Mary Vonda Lee Patton
Mary Vonda Lee Patton passed into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She was born the daughter of Harland D. and Ruth E. (Bryson) Aldrich on January 3, 1930 in Delta , Colorado.
Mary joined the newly formed U.S. Air Force in 1948 completing Cooks and Bakers training in Fort Sam Houston. She served during the Korean War attaining a rank of Corporal. Following her discharge in 1951, she continued her career managing a number of food service operations, including the FBI cafeteria in Washington, D.C. and the Madeira College-preparatory school in Fairfax County, Virginia. Mary worked full-time while raising her family until 1985 when she retired in Live Oak, Florida.
Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Charles Francis “Pat” Patton, Sr., and her eldest son, Paul W. Griffith. She is survived by her sister, Jean L. Price (Greg), Cortez, CO, her daughter Marilee Wood (Bill) Omaha, and two sons, Thomas Patton, Sr. (Susan) Williamsburg, VA and Charles Patton, Jr. (Liz) Dublin, CA. The Lord blessed her life with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her journey through life with her parents took her from small mining towns with no indoor plumbing or electricity, to the North-West Coast where her mother taught school and her father built liberty ships for the war effort. She met and married her husband, a active sailor, in California in 1952. Later Navy assignments relocated the family from San Diego, CA, to Honolulu, HI, and then to the Northern East Coast. After 14 years as a Navy wife, the family moved to South Florida. Mary finished out her final work-life as a State of Florida employee. With retirement, came a move to a slower pace of life in the Florida Panhandle. Mary and Pat eventually moved to Bellevue to be near their daughter where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Visitation following CDC guidelines: Friday, January 8th, 4:00-6:00 p.m., with Vigil Service at 6 p.m. all at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial following CDC guidelines: Saturday, January 9th, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.

Mary will be laid to rest with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
