Paul yearned to fly from his earliest days. He sent applications to airlines from about the age of 6, and his dream was fulfilled when he went to Air Force pilot training in 1948. Recently when he was asked about his proudest achievement, he replied, “earning my wings.” 20 years of service in the Air Force was followed by 22 years of service to his fellow veterans and their families as he worked for the Veterans Administration. His love of flying and service to his country were equaled only by his love for his family-he was a beloved and loving son, grandson, nephew, brother, cousin, husband, father, uncle, grandpa and great grandpa. He has enriched the lives of many-his sense of humor and ability to make friends are legendary and he will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
