Hallin, Gerda M. Age 85 – Feb 19, 2011 Bellevue, NE, Died at St. Joseph Villa Nursing Home, Omaha, NE. Gertrude Maria Amberg was born on February 6, 1926 in West Germany. Gerda Zimmerman married CMSgt Nels Hallin on March 11, 1966 in Wiesbaden, Germany. After leaving Germany, they moved to Rogers, AR where they lived for a few years. They then moved to Bellevue, NE. For many years Gerda did volunteer work at Offutt Air Force Base Hospital. Gerda enjoyed cooking and serving delicious German dishes. She also spent many hours doing crossword puzzles. Gerda is survived by two sons, Carl-Rainer Zimmerman and Willie Zimmerman both of Germany, one daughter Ellen Marie Hallin, Bellevue, NE and two step sons, Sidney Hallin, Yakima, WA and George Hallin, Sioux Falls, SD. She is preceded in death by her husband Nels Hallin. VISITATION: Tues, Feb 22, 5-7PM at Bellevue Memorial Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wed, Feb 23, 2PM at Bellevue Memorial Chapel. INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery. MEMORIALS: ENCOR.
