George W. Lamperti, Sr.

Lamperti, George W, Sr. Dec 22, 1914 – Nov 9, 2011 Via Christe resident, George W. Lamperti Sr., age 96, died following a period of declining health. George was born in NYC, the son of Anthony and Angelina Lamperti. One of 13 children, he attended NYC schools. He married Nicoletta Mussomeli in 1939. Their 2 sons, George Jr. and Richard were born in Stamford CT, where the family resided until their move to Brookfield in 1956. In 2005, George moved to Bellevue and stayed with his son until he moved to Via Christe this year. George worked as a meat cutter for 50 years and was also a bee keeper for over 20 years. He had a ready smile, a hearty laugh, a quick wit, and an eagerness to be helpful to everyone. He truly loved his caregivers. He had an uncanny ability to show love and acceptance to everyone he met. His wife Nicky predeceased him in 1998. They were married for 59 years. He is survived by his 2 sons, George Jr., and Richard; 4 grandchildren, George III, John, Richard Jr., and Rosemarie; 1 great grandson; 1 brother; 2 sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations go to a person or place of your choosing in George’s name. FUNERAL MASS will be held on Saturday, November 19, 9:30am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brookfield Center, CT. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at St Mary’s Church, Bellevue at a time to be decided later.
