Haugen, Donald V. TSGT USAF (Ret.) March 4, 1927 – December 29, 2014 Bellevue, NE Haugen, Donald V. Age 87 Don (Bud) Haugen grew up in Mora, MN, beginning work at DW Onan in Minneapolis at the young age of 15. Entering the Navy at age 17, he proudly served in the Philippines. His combined 20 years in the Navy and Air Force included time in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, plus 3 years in England with his family. During his subsequent 17 years in civil service, he held the position of assistant fire chief. He also found great satisfaction in driving the school bus for special needs children. After retirement, he and his wife, Margaret, joined the ranks of snowbirds, traveling to a variety of locations, but especially enjoying their years in Mesa, AZ. Don was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Minnie Haugen, and grandson, David Livingston. Survivors include wife Margaret Haugen (Wick); daughters, Kathy (Ben) Isgro, and Karen Livingston; grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Yates, Shelley (Phil) Valdez, Cheri Livingston, Danny (Kris) Isgro, Anita (Jake) Menousek, Matt Isgro; and 10 great grandchildren. He entered into his eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2014, and is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Upon seeing him, the Lord was heard to exclaim, “Uff da! Here comes another Norwegian.” VISITATION: 4-6pm on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, 2202 Hancock St., Bellevue, NE. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10am Friday, January 2, 2015 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2311 Fairview Rd., Bellevue, NE. Gravesite Service with Military Honors following at Bellevue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
