Teitler, Barry M. Col. USAF (Ret) Jun 2, 1940 – Mar 15, 2011 Bellevue, NE. Much loved father, hero to his Grandson, dedicated husband to his late wife and servant to his country. Barry was born to Nate and Gussie Teitler in the Bronx, NY. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Through hard work and perseverance he worked his way through officer’s training school and retired after 31 years of service as a Colonel. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska, Omaha and his Master’s degree at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville all while working his way through the military ranks at various Air Force missile bases throughout the United States and overseas. Through his service to his country and his extensive travels with his wife, Bobbie, he was able to see the world. During his ‘retirement’ years he found time to travel, attend his Grandson’s activities, and act as neighborhood advocate. His final two years he dedicated his time and energy to caring for his wife of 49 years and seeing her through her battle with cancer. He follows Bobbie’s recent footsteps from this world where he meets again with his son, Reed, and his parent’s Nate and Gussie. He is survived by his son Daryl and his wife Sonja Teitler of Bellevue, NE. The light of his life, his Grandson, Nathaniel Teitler, Bellevue, NE and the Granddaughter of his heart, Zoe, Kaiyuan City, China. His brother Robert Teitier and his wife Maxine of West Palm Beach, FL. Nephew Jason Teitler and his wife Shari, and their son Tristan of Matawan, New Jersey. Niece, Nicole Cave, her husband Mike, and their children, Anika and Ryan of Austin, Texas. Extended family and in-laws in Florida, California and Oregon. Friends and neighbors in Nebraska.
